Eyes beyond the horizon

I wrote these lines thinking of a mother’s heart; she is watching towards the sea and beyond it, peeling the horizon with her wety eyes; while she’s shouting to herself, but whispering to her “migratory bird”, her child, – “why he would leave his nest to take a daring journey towards a distant land and weave a new nest there?”.

Why isn’t your country also your land?
oh you migratory bird
a swallow in search of summer,
an always thirsty violet,
a wavy sea that stamps the surge against itself,
a whirlwind that blows counter the Universe.
The wind has died away,
the sea has calmed his waves
drink, quench your thirst my violet,
come back my little bird
the summer just returned.
